Noten von Aaron Minsky

Aaron Minsky has been a pioneer and leader in bringing the cello (and all strings) into acceptance in popular music through composing, performing, teaching, and advocating. His over a dozen books of original string music, published by Oxford University Press, have become standard repertoire. His music is in the curriculums of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), U.K., and the American String Teachers' Association (ASTA). A milestone in his quest to bring the cello into rock was the publication of his solo cello suite "Dead Cello" based on the music of the Grateful Dead (Latham Music). Minsky is listed in Who's Who in America and the International Who's Who. He is a Yamaha Artist and D'Addario Artist. Under the name Von Cello, he has released several rock cello CDs and performed live and on television and radio (Associated Press, Good Day New York, FOX and Friends, etc.). He has performed with famous artists including David Bowie, The Plasmatics, and Tony Bennett. Starting in music as a rock guitarist he invented a new style of cello playing, that he calls: "Celtar" (playing the cello like a guitar).
