Nicholas Cook, FBA ist ein britischer Musikwissenschaftler und Schriftsteller, geboren in Athen, Griechenland. Von 2009 bis 2017 war er 1684 Professor für Musik an der University of Cambridge, wo er Fellow des Darwin College ist. Zuvor war er Professor am Royal Holloway, University of London, wo er das Arts and Humanities Research Council Research Centre for the History and Analysis of Recorded Music (CHARM) leitete. Er lehrte auch an der University of Hong Kong, der University of Sydney und der University of Southampton, wo er als Dekan der Kunst tätig war.
Er ist ehemaliger Herausgeber des Journal of the Royal Musical Association und wurde 2001 zum Fellow der British Academy gewählt.
